SHI Designated as a WHO Collaborating Centre

Since its establishment in 2019, the Graduate School of Health Innovation (SHI) has been conducting education and research activities related to public health such as ME-BYO improvement and healthy longevity.

In recognition of these activities, the Graduate School of Health Innovation has been designated as a WHO Collaborating Centre by the World Health Organization (WHO) on March 26, 2025.

It is designated by the Director-General of the WHO as an organization to support WHO activities, and currently has 797 institutions in 94 countries around the world (as of April 8), and 33 institutions in Japan, including our university.

Our university is the only collaborating centre in Kanagawa prefecture.

1 Specification Overview

WHO Collaborating Centre for Innovations in Healthy Ageing

Designated period: 4 years from March 26, 2025

2 Activities

In collaboration with Kanagawa Prefecture, we will proceed with the following activities.

(1) Policy Research

Preparation of policy research and academic papers on healthy aging, including initiatives for age-friendly cities (creating "senior-friendly cities").

(2) Human resources development

Fostering leaders who will lead healthy aging in each country and region by holding seminars and practicing entrepreneurship education.

(3) Public awareness

International sharing of the results of initiatives related to healthy aging in Kanagawa Prefecture.

 

 

3 Future

Through the above activities, we will further enhance the education and research activities of our university.
